Sandön, Kimito Islands, Archipelago Sea, Finland

Sandön ("The Sandy island") is a unique destination for spending a night on during one of our multi-day sea kayaking expeditions in the Archipelago Sea.

Sandö and the adjacent Sandskär are part of the Salpausselkä ridge system. The island is part of the Archipelago National Park, and camping is allowed on the north end of the island. The island is covered by a beautiful pine forest, and a walk around the island is something we recommend. The north-eastern tip of Sandö continues very far as a low sandbank and the bay just west of this point is quite popular by boaters.
